At the age of 5-6 years old I started to follow Shotokan Ryu – Karate classes at Karateschool Alken for 2.5 years and received the orange belt, after 20.5 years I made the choice to pick up my training in Shotokan Ryu – Karate at Karate & Muay Tai School Alken, at the moment I’m training to receive my green belt and so on. Future will tell how far I will come. My father and brothers all trained at the same school and my father even coached and participated in competitions. My favorite part of the Shotokan Ryu – Karate classes are the Kata’s, beside that I also enjoy the other parts of the training.

I finished an education in Sports, Service & Safety where the ‘Service’ is based on army related training and Allround Laboratory Technician and a more specialized education in Biotechnology. Experience in many different fields of work and tasks over the years as well as finished an education in Paint Technology and a more specialized education in Binding agents.

In my childhood and teenage years I’ve encountered some traumatic experiences and came across challenges mostly coming from environment, personality traits and normal teenage struggles.

If you for example want to read more about how I tackled these challenges, see the section ‘Other – Spirituality’.

Subsequent to the ‘Music and dance as part of my life’

In 2007, I danced together with a Turkish belly dancer on my travel to Turkey in the hotel, this was spontaneous and not planned.

In 2011, I followed some classes in Oriental Dance specifically Turkish at Rubina Belly Dance.

In January 2023 I picked up my Oriental Dance group classes at Oriental Move and followed several workshops from different teachers on different subjects within the art of Oriental Dance. Read more about the different workshops and subjects in the post ‘Different workshops within the art of Oriental Dance’.

In October 2023 I went to my first dance journey at ISOC (International Saray of Oriental Culture) in Cairo, Egypt. The group journey was organized by Prof. Dr. Hassan Khalil and Dr. Britta Nuriah Wenn. In the journey we learned three choreographies and theory classes based on folklore and golden era style, also dancing with a prop called the melaya.

After my first dance journey I was sure I wanted to follow my child’s dream and following my heart and passion in dance as stated before that dance was always a part of my life. I choose a different artist name first, but quickly changed it to the Arabic name Naariyya which means The Fiery Girl (Fire).

In Arabic Nar means Fire, the Arabic word conjugated to the feminine singular version is Naariyya. As Arabic is not the same in every country Naariyya has different meanings. I also go by the Egyptian Arabic name for ‘Fire’ which I am very proud of to have as second artist name. Fire is the leading element in my Zodiac ‘Lion’ and fire already attracted me when I was a little child, it fits me and my personality very well.

I followed workshops from different teachers on different subjects. Read more about the different workshops and journeys in the post ‘Different workshops within the art of Oriental Dance’.

In May 2024 I went to my second dance journey at ISOC (International Saray of Oriental Culture) in Cairo, Egypt. Next to the choreographies teached within the specific journey subject, I took private classes to train for my first competition experience.

In June 2024 I was a dance festival virgin and lost my dance festival virginity to the Egyptian Dance Festival, named Cleopatra Dance Fest in Cairo, Egypt. The festival is organized by Mohamed Shahin and his team. At the festival I’ve had my first competition experience and performed on stage, both choreographies we’re golden era style combined with veil and teached by Dr. Hassan Khalil and Dr. Britta Nuriah Wenn. During the festival I’ve followed 40 hours of classes from different teachers on different subjects and different props. In June 2025 I went to Cleopatra Dance Fest for my second Egyptian Dance Festival experience, Organized by Mohamed Shahin and his team.
